Every year, I offer my senior studio VIP's the opportunity to be a part of a destination model experience. When I first began this adventure 6 years ago, it was with another organization that had several hundred seniors entered into the competition and only 12 spaces for models. This made it so exciting when I had the joy of having 2 winners, Michaela Schlecter (now Mrs. Scott and owner of her own photography studio in Idaho) and Alexa Adelmeyer (now a college campus queen). When the organization did some re-organizing and changed their model competition, I decided I wanted to create an event that I could guarantee, not only one winner, but TWO EVERY YEAR! I contacted several other photographers to see if they wanted to join in and WANDERLUST was born! Last year we went to Santa Fe, New Mexico and had an amazing experience! This year, I have moved from Alaska to Colorado and I wanted to explore my new home with some of my favorite seniors! The other photographers and other photography industry professionals did the voting and came up with the Top Model winner (winning an all-expense paid trip for 3 days of modeling in Colorado) and the Runner-up Model (winning a room and 3 day model experience but not travel to and from Colorado).
The Top Model is Paige Cassell and the runner-up in Chathum Moser- both from Juneau, Alaska. We have enjoyed working with these two seniors so much. I love that they both have a natural comfort in front of the camera and they join in creating the style they want to see in their images. They are both creative, bold and fun to be with. The event will be held April 27-29 in Manitou Springs, Colorado!
